My Top Hollywood Bars!

This past Sunday, I reached the ripe old age of 23! I wanted to make it memorable with dinner at one of my favorite restaurants (Terronis) and then hit up some amazing bars. So I actually wanted to talk about my favorite bars in the Hollywood area, perfect for a night out!

1. Good Times at Davey Waynes

Originally created as a speakeasy, this hidden bar quickly took the nightlife in Hollywood by storm. Entering through a dirty refrigerator in a garage, you take a trip through time into the 1970s. With shag carpet on the walls and vintage couches lining the walls, you can sit back and relax while sipping on a "Love Train" or dance to the DJ playing classic rock hits from the 70s and 80s. You can also chill in the patio that's reminiscent of a family BBQ featuring a real airstream! But the downside is the line gets fairly long after 9pm. My advice, arrive around 8:30 before the major crowd hits so you can grab your drink and not stress about fighting over bar space.

2. Sunset and Vinyl

Now THIS is more like a speakeasy in the sense that it's inside another business with no signs. Venture into 800º Pizza on Vine, find the backstairs near the restrooms and climb until you hear Fleetwood Mac playing on a record player. Grab a seat at the gorgeous bar or sink into one of the vintage velvet chairs. This speakeasy also features a large vinyl collection that you can go through and put your favorite into the line up. This has a much more chill vibe than Good Times and great for those who don't like big crowds considering it has a mx of 35 people. Hungry? Head down to the pizza shop for a bite then get back to your drinks!

3. Tramp Stamp Granny's

I was able to go here for the first time for my birthday celebration Saturday night. Owned by actor Darren Criss, this piano bar speaks to all the musical theater nerds out there. You have an extremely talented pianist set up in the back belting out songs that everyone can love. The space is a wide open dance floor with a long, marble bar serving up delicious drinks. Beware, this place also gets a line out the door to get in but luckily, we bribed out way in (shh).

4. The Abbey

If you're looking for a place to shake your ass to today's hits, The Abbey off Santa Monica BLVD in West Hollywood is the place to go. This iconic gay bar is a WeHo favorite by the LGBT community and those who aren't. The male dancers are talented and know how to get your attention. The drinks are strong and at great prices. I'm not always one for these kinds of clubs but this Hollywood legend makes it onto my list of go-tos.

I'm always on the hunt for places that make me never want to leave. Ambiance, drinks and having places for me to sit are all big for me. Maybe I'll let you in on my favorite Downtown bars next!
