How To: Start Selling Your Designs Today!

This site contains affiliate links to products. I may receive a commission for purchases made through these links.

Let me start off by saying, I LOVE hand-making shirts with designs that I create using a Cricut but unfortunately, I don’t have my own (I use my mom’s when I visit her). But, I had a bunch of designs I made or have acquired the commercial license for that I wanted to be able to sell on products. I found out that you can connect print-on-demand services to your Etsy or online store! So I want to share ways you can sell your designs on products without committing to purchasing a large amount at once!

This is the first platform that I started using to be able to sell products on Etsy. It’s a super simple integration and once you put your design on products, you can make mockups and sync the products for sale to your Etsy store! You are also able to adjust the prices, variants, and more before sending the item over to Etsy.

Pros:

· Orders directly sync to Printful

· Can add your own branding to receipts and order forms

· Wide variety of products to choose from

· Products like shirts have multiple color options

· Each product has a variety of mockups to choose from

· Printful also has a mockup generator

· Offers embroidery

Cons:

· Some items base price is pricier which means you make a little less

· Shipping isn’t very cheap but flat rate per product

Printify runs the same way that Printful does! But there are some differences. For example, they sell some different products than Printful such as face masks (which has become my best seller). They also have different suppliers that you can choose from to make your product but the shipping and base cost varies per supplier.

Pros:

· Orders directly synch to Printify

· Can add your own branding to receipts and order forms

· Some different product offerings from Printful

· Can choose vendors based on fulfillment time, item and shipping cost and overall rating

Cons:

· Each item has limited options in colors depending on the supplier

· The design page is fairly simple (which is fine for some people)

· Doesn’t have many mockups (I just hop on over to Printful to make mockups for products I’m selling on Printify)

Overall pros: You aren’t responsible for the making, storage, fulfillment, and shipment of orders placed

Overall cons: on all platforms, you are charged the manufacturing fee prior to getting paid for the actual order which can be a problem on large orders. Both platforms are very easy to sign up and integrate with your Etsy shop or any other platform you sell on! Sign up for Printful here

These platforms can be integrated with Etsy, Amazon, eBay, and so much more! The world of print on demand has allowed so many people to start creating this new form of income without any start-up costs. There's more that goes into the overall process of choosing and making designs, marketing the product, and more but for now, this can get you started with your POD brand!
